Cordless direct drive motor for stable rotation
The SL-1200GME/1210GME features a coreless direct-drive motor that eliminates tooth deformation and ensures smooth rotation. Its dual-rotor construction delivers high torque while simultaneously reducing bearing stress and minimizing vibration. The spool mounting base uses the same bracing pattern as the Reference Class SL-1000R/SP-10R for added rigidity.
Improved ΔΣ-Drive (Delta Sigma Drive)
Discover a world of audio precision with the ΔΣ-Drive—a state-of-the-art system leveraging Technics' expertise in PWM signal processing. The SL-1200GME/1210GME widens the PWM carrier frequency from approximately 2 kHz to over 20 kHz, significantly reducing noise and further suppressing micro-vibrations.

The turntable features a three-layer construction with a rigid combined brass and aluminum die-cast platter. A damping rubber extends across the entire rear surface to eliminate unnecessary resonance, achieving high rigidity and vibration damping. This ensures smooth rotational stability and an inertial mass greater than that of the SP-10MK2, the standard direct-drive turntable used by broadcasters worldwide, which is more than twice the inertial mass of the SL-1200MK5.
High-level balance adjustment
Uneven weight distribution on a turntable can cause vibration or noise during rotation, which degrades sound quality. Therefore, the turntable's balance is factory-adjusted using specialized, high-precision balance controls. Turntables that have been aligned are labeled "BALANCED" to indicate they have been checked and precisely aligned.
Toonarm
The tonearm is made of lightweight, cold-drawn magnesium for high precision. Its high initial-motion sensitivity is achieved through Technics' gimbal suspension construction and high-precision bearings.
