Live demo at our open day – Next Pro Audio in action

During our open day at Bekafun, we set up two complete demo configurations outside based on Next Pro Audio's point source systems. We deliberately chose both the SP8 and the SP12 so that visitors could experience the difference and the power of both systems for themselves in a realistic setting.

Compactly built, but clearly high-end

What immediately stood out during the demo is how compact these cabinets are in relation to their performance. They are sturdily built and clearly designed for professional use. They are not lightweight, but this translates into a robust finish and a warm yet solid sound.

The SP8 combined with the LAS15 or LAS15A forms a particularly interesting set for those seeking a compact yet powerful solution. Ideal for mobile DJs, smaller events, or installations where space is an important factor.

Smart distribution and controlled coverage

One of the strongest points of these tops is undoubtedly the dispersion. Thanks to the rotatable horn, you get a relatively narrow vertical angle and wide horizontal coverage.

This ensures highly focused sound projection, with less loss upwards or downwards, and optimal coverage over the audience. In practice, this means: more control, fewer reflections, and more efficient sound distribution.

The SP8 was demonstrated with an active 15" subwoofer, complemented by its passive counterpart. The SP12 with an active dual 18" subwoofer.

The combination of the SP8 tops with the LAS15 or LAS15A subwoofer forms a particularly compact yet surprisingly powerful set. Ideal for small to medium-sized applications such as mobile DJs, corporate events, bars, or installations where space and weight are crucial.

Tight and controlled tops

The SP8 is a high-end point source speaker with a dual 8” configuration and powerful DSP processing. Despite its compact size, it delivers impressive output and clarity.

With a power output of 1750W RMS and a max SPL of 137.5 dB, the SP8 offers exceptional punch and detail, perfect for both music and speech. Thanks to the FIR filters and extensive DSP, the sound remains tight and controlled, even at higher volumes.

Furthermore, the 80° x 45° dispersion ensures focused and efficient coverage, ideal in smaller rooms or setups where precision is important.

Powerful low-end in a compact size

The LAS15 (passive) and LAS15A (active) are designed as the perfect complement to compact heads such as the SP8.

Both models utilize a high-excursion 15” B&C driver and deliver an impressive bass response with a frequency range down to approximately 44 Hz (-6 dB).

SP12: Powerful and Versatile

The SP12 is a powerful 3-way sound system that works perfectly for both fixed installations and mobile applications. This system delivers clear and powerful sound thanks to two 12-inch speakers and an advanced coaxial tweeter. A unique feature is the rotatable waveguide, which you can turn without tools to adjust the sound direction.

Due to the clever placement of the speakers, the SP12 ensures good sound distribution, even at low frequencies.

The built-in 3-channel amplifier delivers a peak power of 3,840 W, which ensures a powerful and pure sound. The DSP processor operates at a high speed and can be easily controlled via the X-NET Software. With this software you can control and adjust all speakers within a room in real time. The software automatically recognizes connected speakers and makes managing them easy.

Rotatable 80° x 45° Waveguide

A unique feature is that this is a point source speaker with a rotatable waveguide (rotatable horn), which you can adjust manually, without tools. You can rotate the horn to adjust the sound direction from 45° to 80°.

The Waveguide, in combination with the dipolar configuration of the 12-inch drivers, provides controlled sensitivity down to approximately 500Hz, maintaining a consistent dispersion pattern. This precision engineered technology guarantees crystal clear audio!

Due to the smart placement of the speaker, the SP12 ensures good sound distribution, even at low frequencies.

Ultimate setup

The combination of the 2x12-inch SP12 and the double 18" LAS518a is a match made in heaven. The SP12 can easily be combined with a speaker pole on the LAS518a, which has an m20 pole mount socket. Both can be grouped in X-Net to easily and correctly adjust them to the room or application.

Low Frequencies

With two 18-inch neodymium drivers, the LAs518A delivers a deep and controlled bass response, ideal for live music, clubs, theaters and events. The optimized tuning provides a frequency response down to 24 Hz (-10 dB), providing an impressive foundation for any audio setup.

Powerful Reinforcement

The LAs518A is powered by a lightweight, highly efficient 2-channel Class D amplifier module, with a power output of up to 5000 W. This not only ensures a powerful output, but also an accurate and detailed reproduction of low frequencies. With a maximum peak SPL of 143 dB, this subwoofer can effortlessly deliver the energy and impact needed for large-scale events.

Reliable Design

Built in a rugged 89kg front-loaded bass reflex enclosure, the LAs518A is designed for both fixed and mobile applications. Thanks to the integrated universal power supply with Power Factor Correction (PFC), the subwoofer delivers consistent performance regardless of the worldwide power supply. This makes it particularly suitable for international tours and installations in various environments.

What about X-Net?

With X-NET you can adjust settings such as volume, timbre and delay and manage several speakers together. In addition, the system automatically switches between analog and digital inputs (AES or Dante) for maximum reliability.
