Minimoog Model D – final production announced

Since its introduction in 1970, the Minimoog Model D has been regarded as one of the most influential synthesizers ever. As the first portable, fully analog synthesizer, it formed the basis for virtually all electronic keyboards that followed. Thanks to its combination of the powerful Moog modular sound and a directly playable interface without patch cables, the instrument was widely embraced by artists such as Herbie Hancock, Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder, and Gary Numan.

Moog is now officially announcing the final production run of the Minimoog Model D. Within this final run, two versions are being released: a standard mahogany version and a limited Bob Moog Tribute Edition.

Minimoog Model D – Mahogany (final batch)

The mahogany version remains true to the original design and represents the classic Minimoog as it has been known for decades. This series constitutes the final batch of the standard Model D to be produced.

This means that this is the last opportunity to purchase a new Minimoog Model D in its original form.
