A proven concept, thoroughly reimagined

The Prime 4 G2 stays true to what made the original a hit: a full-fledged 4-channel, 4-deck standalone system that lets you perform a complete set without a laptop. Yet, this second generation is far more than just a refresh. For the first time, Denon combines multi-zone performance pads with onboard stem rendering, built-in lighting control, and full-sized jog wheels featuring center displays—creating a unit that adapts just as easily to a laid-back afternoon as it does to a club night.

The highlight: MPCe multi-zone performance pads

The biggest innovation lies in the pads. The sixteen MPCe pads are both velocity- and pressure-sensitive and utilize 3D sensing to combine Hot Cues, Stems, Rolls, FX, and lighting control within a single pad, effectively quadrupling your triggering options. This technology is derived from the AKAI MPC line, which also falls under the inMusic umbrella.

Stems fully on board

Stem separation is built directly into the unit. You can render stems from your tracks while playing—using dedicated buttons to create instrumentals and acapellas—and access Stem FX and Stem EQ. Whether you want to extract vocals, isolate a beat, or build a mash-up live, you can do it all without external software or a computer.

Light and music from a single device

The Prime 4 G2 also controls your show. You can connect DMX lighting via a SoundSwitch-powered output—with support for systems like Philips Hue and Nanoleaf—and use OmniSource to switch seamlessly between sources while performing, ranging from USB and streaming to Serato DJ Pro and VirtualDJ. This allows you to manage both the music and the atmosphere from a single unit, without the need for additional hardware.

More power and refinement

Significant upgrades have been made under the hood. An 8-core ARM processor with 4GB of RAM delivers four times the power of the previous generation, ensuring smoother library navigation, seamless onboard stem rendering, and a generally more responsive feel. On top of that, you get full-sized 8-inch jog wheels with dynamic LED displays, a multi-function navigation encoder, redesigned premium dual-rail faders, and the familiar 10.1-inch HD multi-touch screen. The effects section has also been expanded, and streaming support now includes Amazon Music Unlimited and Apple Music, among others.
