New to our range: the Palmer ORBIT 11
Palmer expands its range with the ORBIT 11, an active coaxial 3-way studio monitor aimed at professionals in mixing, mastering, post-production, sound design, broadcasting, and content creation. With this new addition to the ORBIT series, Palmer clearly positions itself for accurate sound reproduction and practical studio integration. The ORBIT 11 is now available in our range, in black or white.
True Point Source: precision in imaging
The heart of the ORBIT 11 is the coaxial True Point Source design, in which a 6.5" mid-driver and a 1" tweeter are positioned on the same acoustic axis. This results in a consistent 120° × 120° dispersion, ensuring a stable stereo image and reliable tonal balance over a wider listening area.
Added to this is a cardioid front: the directional radiation characteristic suppresses sound towards the rear, reducing interaction with the room and delivering a cleaner, reflection-free listening image.
Deep, controlled bass thanks to dual 8" woofers
For low-frequency reproduction, Palmer employs two impulse-compensated 8" woofers mounted in a sealed, cast-aluminum enclosure with a wall thickness of 5 to 16 mm. This construction is specifically designed to neutralize mechanical forces and minimize cabinet resonance. The result: tightly controlled, resonance-free bass response extending down to 28 Hz (-3 dB) — an impressive range for a monitor of this size.
Full 3-way design with robust power handling
The ORBIT 11 is a true 3-way monitor, powered by a Class-D amplifier section with a peak power of 1000 W (2 × 250 W for mid/high, 1 × 500 W for low). This translates to an RMS power of 400 W and a maximum SPL of 116 dB (peak, full space at 1 m). The crossover frequencies are at 250 Hz and 1800 Hz.
Quick to set up, flexibly positioned
These presets make it easy to acoustically adjust the monitor for placement on a desk or against a back wall, with the "advanced low-end design" offering additional compensation for wall coupling and unwanted low-frequency attenuation.
For connectivity, the ORBIT 11 offers a balanced XLR line input and an AES3 input via XLR, supplemented by an AES3 Thru output to daisy-chain multiple units — useful for surround or multichannel setups.
