What do I put extra I/O ports on for new Avantis Solo?
Option 1: netwerkaudio uses Dante Card
If you opt for the Dante Card, your Avantis Solo connects directly to a Dante network via the built-in I/O port. You can transmit and receive audio over standard network cabling, share channels with other Dante equipment on-site, and set up a digital split—to a monitor console or recording system, for example—without running additional analog snakes. For those already using Dante in fixed installations or rental applications, this integrates seamlessly with the existing infrastructure.
Option 2: more local I/O with the DX168
If you prefer extra physical inputs and outputs, the DX168 is the logical choice. This portable expander provides 16 mic preamps with individual phantom power LEDs and 8 XLR line outputs, connecting to your Avantis Solo via a single Cat5e cable and EtherCon port at distances of up to 100 meters. This allows you to keep extra channels close to the source on stage while remaining at the console. Additionally, the DX168 can be daisy-chained with a second unit for further expansion.
Additional options alongside the promotion: Dpack and RackUltraFX
In addition to the free expansion, you can further equip the Avantis Solo with Dpack—a software upgrade that unlocks extra dLive processing capabilities on the console. This includes features such as Dyn8 (dynamic EQ and multiband compression), DEEP emulations of classic compressors and preamps, and the Dual Stage Valve Preamp—all available directly on your input and mix channels without consuming FX slots.
Users of Dpack can also opt to add RackUltraFX: a module that combines FPGA and ARM processing to bring the dLive effects architecture to the Avantis. This provides 8 additional FX engines—featuring reverbs, vocal processors, distortion, saturation, and harmonizers—alongside the existing RackExtra FX slots.
